Wow...Expat life in Thailand...

Over the past 6+ years working in Asia, I have had the incredible opportunity to experience a wealth of cultures throughout the Asia Pacific region, but none has ever intrigued me more than that of the wonderful culture of Thailand.  So much is written about the joys and experiences of living here that I don't feel it's necessary to replicate those thoughts.  Instead, I would like to present a simple view of my take on it all...My view of Expat Life In Thailand...

First of all, let me say that I have the utmost respect for the country, the people, the food, and the culture of Thailand.  Never in my travels have I experienced a nation so capable of warming their hearts to the often strange and uncomprehendable hearts of foreigners from all over the world.  For me, as a worldwide business traveler, I understand and respect the difficulties encountered on a day to day basis when meeting and engaging in simple tourism activities or business engagements with strangers from a foreign land; but incredibly the Thais seem to have an almost serene ability all their own to accept us all into their own "Land of Smiles" without any hesitation or reservation.

I believe this is one of the primary reasons I was so immediately attracted to the country and its' people some 8 years ago when I first visited.  It is truly, and understandably rare to find such a place.
